I had no idea there was a (sort of) simple method for extracting the seeds from a pomegranate. I have always just cut them in half and then pried the seeds out with a spoon, which usually results in clothing/carpet/counter stain casualties. I'll have to try this. I really dislike the pre-extracted seeds sold at Trader Joe's. Whatever that white thing that they put in the bottom of the plastic container is, it doesn't seem like something that should be coming in contact with my food and I think it makes the seeds taste funny.
